BROOKSVILLE – Pamela Elaine Jordan Ashmore went peacefully to her final rest April 8, 2010, at Blue Hill Hospital, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s. She was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Ellsworth, daughter of Langdon Eugene Jordan and Margaret Elaine (McDevitt) Jordan. Pam was raised in Waltham and Franklin. She went to grade school in Waltham and Eastbrook. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1965 and attended Beal Business College. Pam met her husband, John Ashmore, in spring 1968; they were married Nov. 2, 1968, at Ellsworth Falls Congregational Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved attending Order of the Eastern Star functions. She loved to travel and go camping. Pam, with her husband, John, traveled to almost all 50 states, including driving to Alaska. They spent many a holiday weekend at Masthead Campground, Bucksport, and their last four winters in Alamogordo, N.M. Pam joined Bagaduce Chapter No. 173 Order of the Eastern Star, Brooksville, Oct. 26, 1973, and was worthy matron of the Bagaduce Chapter in 1978 and 1979. Pam was appointed grand representative of Pennsylvania in Maine in 1979 and 1980, and was most recently a member of Harbor View Chapter No. 136, Deer Isle, and Alamo Chapter No. 11, Alamogordo, N.M. She was also a member of Anah Temple Sunshine Club and Brooksville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John, of Brooksville; two sons, Robert and his wife, Nancy, of Palmyra and Douglas and his wife, Jody-Ann, of Ogden, Utah; four grandchildren, Jessica Ashmore, Rebecca Ashmore, Joshua Ashmore and Juan Ashmore; one sister, Priscilla Conley and her husband, Daniel, of Gouldsboro; and brother, Landon Jordan Jr. of Waltham. A celebration of Pam’s life and Eastern Star service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
