EAST MILLINOCKET – Robert Leigh “Bob” Dishon, 70, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 8, 2010, at a Bangor hospital after many years battling with cancer. He was born in Wytopitlock, the son of Edward “Hamm” Dishon Sr. and Norma (Chambers) Dishon. Bob worked for nearly 40 years for Great Northern Paper Co., East Millinocket. He was known for his “flirty,” fun loving nature and his love of animals, especially his dogs, Rocky, Duchess, Rusty, Louis and Cassie. Bob also enjoyed days at camp with his best friends, Raymond and Susan Darveau, berry picking and making pies, fishing in his secret spots and socializing at Country Diner with the gang. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sally (Smart) Dishon, in 2001. He missed her every day and always cherished their porch at camp. He is survived by his two children, Marie (Dishon) Vienneau and her husband, David, and Michael Dishon, all of East Millinocket; a special niece, Fayette Austin of East Millinocket; three grandsons, Matthew Dishon of Limington, Sean Arant and Ryan Vienneau of East Millinocket; and three stepgrandchildren, Aaron, Adam and Michaela Vienneau, whom he loved like his own. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was predeceased by five siblings, Alton, Conrad and Edward Dishon, Arlene Burke and Gladys Austin. Friends are invited to visit with the family 3-4 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a celebration of Bob’s life will be held 4 p.m. led by Deacon Danny Watson.
