ALEXANDER – Dawn Marie Moraisey, 50, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at her home, with her husband by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dawn was born Dec. 4, 1959, in St. Albans City, Vt., the daughter of Lewis and Janice (Call) Stone. She graduated from Calais High School and attended Husson College, Bangor, and Washington County Community College, where she studied business. On June 27, 1987, she married Donald Moraisey in Calais. Dawn was employed at various companies until beginning her career with the Calais School Department, where she worked as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for more than 25 years. She enjoyed having barbecues with her family and friends, playing cards and attending bluegrass festivals. She was an avid reader. Dawn was predeceased by her mother, Janice Stone; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Rosena Stone; maternal grandparents, Julian and Fern Call; and a brother-in-law, Christopher Eagan. Surviving are her loving husband, Donald Moraisey; her father, Lewis Stone of Calais; stepson, Dennis Moraisey of Addison; three sisters, Carol Stone Eagan, Crystal McPhee and Tina Perkins, all of Calais; her faithful canine companion, Sadie; many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at Church of the Open Bible, 1222 Airline Road, Alexander. Burial will take place at Alexander Cemetery.
