SMYRNA – Vicky Lynn Slauenwhite, 65, died April 9, 2010, in Houlton. She was born Nov. 6, 1944, in Huntington, W.Va., the daughter of Orbin and Elsie (McColloch) Hilty. Vicky graduated from Apollo High School in Pennsylvania, Class of 1962. She joined the Navy in 1963 and married Clifford Slauenwhite, Dec. 3, 1964. Vicky was a licensed practical nurse, working at Kent County Hospital for 20 years and then moved to Maine and worked at Houlton Regional Hospital and Gardiner Nursing Home, as well as Mount Heights Health Care Facility. In addition to her mother of Houlton and her husband of 45 years of Smyrna, she is survived by one niece, Dixie Ann Hilty and her daughter, Tori; and her three dogs, Sally, Peppi and Sam. She was predeceased by her father; one son, Eric; and one brother, Kurtis Samuel Hilty. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held noon Wednesday, April 14, at Oakfield Cemetery with the Rev. Peter Main officiating.
