POLAND – With deep and abiding sadness, the family, extended family and many friends of Richard Hall mourn his passing Sunday, April 4, 2010. For 78 years he maintained his extraordinary love of family, dry Maine sense of humor, curiosity, laughter and a volatile Scotch temper. The family is comforted by the knowledge that he was always there to help and guide them. They will all miss his strong and loving arms. The family extends special thanks to his compassionate and loving hospice team, and the wonderful nurses, aides, volunteers and doctors at Hospice House, Auburn, that took such exquisite care of Dick. A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 819, Lewiston, ME 04236, attention: Laurie Winsor.
