EASTON – Wendell C. McKinney, 73, died Saturday morning, April 10, 2010, at his residence. He was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Madawaska, the son of Edgar and Margaret (Bourgeois) McKinney. He served in the U.S. Army, 1954-1960. Wendell worked as a field representative for the Social Security Administration retiring in 1989. He loved listening to music, was an avid crossword puzzle solver, loved working on projects around the house, and made lovely pieces of furniture for family and friends in his workshop. Wendell and Gayle enjoyed their trips to Tennessee, Westbrook and Brownville to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gayle (Artes) McKinney of Easton; three children, Stephanie L. McKinney of Chattanooga, Tenn., W. Clayton Mckinney Jr. of Kittery and Renovia Marro and her husband, Anthony, of Westbrook; a sister, Dacia Paradis of York; a brother, Rick McKinney of Madawaska; a very special grandson, Gabriel of Chattanooga, Tenn.; an aunt, Monica Martin of Edmunston, New Brunswick; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Christine and Richard Dow of Cape Elizabeth, Bryan and Lorna Artes of Howland, Jeannine and Paul Cote of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Larry Sullivan officiating.
