CORINNA – Patrick L. Grover, 59, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 17, 1951, in Gardiner, the son of Lawrence and Mildred (Dort) Grover. After high school, Patrick joined the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War as a Russian-Vietnamese linguist. After his discharge from the Army, he joined Monterey County Sheriff’s Department where he worked until his retirement. After resettling in Maine, Patrick worked for Harris House and Maine Center for Integrated Rehabilitation, where he greatly touched the lives of residents and clients. Patrick enjoyed playing the side drum competitively in Monterey Bay Pipe Band and Maine pipe band, Rocky Bay. He will always be remembered for his admittedly dry sense of humor, and his ability to retain and retell long stories and jokes. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Ada (Grey-McLaren) Grover; daughter, Colleen Erin Grover of Lincoln, Calif.; son, Isaac Grey-McLaren of Corinna; brother, Morgan Grover of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; sister, Connie Huntley of Veazie; nephews, Patrick and Wendell Skidgell; cousins, Raymond and Arbeth “Petie” Coffren; mother-in-law, Patricia McLaren of Monterey Bay, Calif.; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his brother, Donald. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Calvary Chapel, 154 River Road, Orrington.
