FRANKFORT and HAYWARD, Calif. – Peggy Badran died March 19, 2010, at her home, after a courageous struggle with breast and ovarian cancer. She was born Nov. 5, 1952, in Daly City, Calif., daughter of the late Phillip and Ruth Badran, the middle child of three. Peggy studied classical violin and social work, graduating from San Francisco State University and the University of Maine. She worked for many years at Spruce Run Hospice of Eastern Maine and as a pediatric oncology social worker at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Her hobbies included camping, scrapbooking and music, but most of all, spending time with her many birds, cats and dogs. She is survived by one sister, many friends; former partner of 18 years, Sue St. Clair, and her 16 pets whom she lived with on both the East and West coasts.
