SEARSPORT – Roy M. Young Sr., 89, went home to be with his Lord and Mama Saturday, April 17, 2010, in Belfast. He was born May 10, 1920, in Searsport, son of Lester and Lillian (Seekins) Young. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in France. He worked for C.H. Sprague for 39 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and was past noble grand of Searsport Rebekah’s and Syvetta Club. Roy was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, Robert “Bus,” Walter, Helen, Evelyn and Gertrude. Survivors include six children, Pearl Moulton of Searsport, Roy Jr. and wife, Pat Young, of Indiana, Priscilla Young of Winthrop, Richard Young of Bar Harbor, Rodney and wife, Hazel Young, of Waldo and Esther Floyd of Brewer; a brother-in-law, David Moody of Belfast; a sister, Maxine Young of Carmel; grandchildren, Rita and her husband, Ken Murphy, of Searsport, Stephen and wife, Annie Moulton, of North Searsport, Mike and wife, Amy Moulton, of Indiana, Karen and husband, David Merritt, of Indiana, Archie Jr. and wife, Lee Ann Miller, of Readfield, Melissa and husband, Mike Ruth, of Augusta, Amanda of Belfast, Courtney and mate, Patrick Croteau, of Belfast, Michelle and husband, Tony Quinn, of Brooks and Angela Noyes of Knox; 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and two great-great-grandsons. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday, April 19, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Mount Solitude Cemetery, Monroe.
