Plans are under way for the annual Friends of Bangor Public Library Book Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 8, at the library, 145 Harlow St.
Friends president Ginger Graham wrote that in order for this sale to be a success, donations of books are needed and volunteers are needed to sort them and help during the sale.
Book donations can be made from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, at the library.
If you cannot bring the books to the library and need them to be picked up, or if you have questions about the sale, call the library at 947-8336.
Donors are reminded not to bring textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, “old encyclopedias, old magazines or anything that has mold or mildew,” Graham wrote.
She also suggests that “if there is a particularly good read you are donating, why not slip a short review in the book for someone to discover?”
Graham wants potential volunteers to know that the book sale set-up begins Tuesday, May 4, and volunteers are asked to call the library at the number above, call Graham at 945-6883 or e-mail grahams33@myfairpoint.net.
When you call or e-mail, you are asked to leave your name and telephone number.
