SULLIVAN – Eleanor S. Daley, 72, died April 22, 2010, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1937, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Elliott and Louise (Cole) Stratton. Eleanor worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. She enjoyed her family, gardening and camping. Eleanor always had a smile and was willing to help as a caregiver to those that she loved. She enjoyed helping at Beano and other fundraising events at Sullivan Fire Department. Her animals were very special to her. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Raymond H. Daley Sr.; sons, Elliott and wife, Sally, and Raymond Jr. and wife, Carin; daughter, Debra Scott and husband, Douglas, all of Sullivan; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Alonzo Willey of Cherryfield. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Interment will be held at Gordon Cemetery, Sullivan, at a later date. Because of her love for animals, the family suggest contributions in Eleanor’s memory be made to SPCA of Hancock County, 141 Bar Harbor Road, Trenton, ME 04605.
