MADAWASKA – Joseph A. Morins, 79, passed on to eternal life April 22, 2010, surrounded by family and friends at Ridgewood Estates, Madawaska. Joe was born March 21, 1931, in Madawaska, son of Denis and Leda (Cote) Morin. After growing up on the family farm, he moved to Connecticut and worked in the building trades industry as a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Connecticut Carpenters Local 24, where he recently achieved 50 years of continuous membership. After 40 years, Joe returned to the area of his birth and made a home for himself and his wife, where he enjoyed nearly 20 years of retirement overlooking Long Lake in St. David. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Cecile (Guerrette). He is survived by his two sons, Clifford and Joseph “Phil” Morin; two daughters and their husbands, Janice and Rob Shanley, and Linda and Ray Chamberland; four grandchildren, Nicole, Neil and Megan Chamberland and Jessica Shanley, all of Connecticut; one sister, Rita Dionne of Madawaska; four brothers and their wives, Roland and Cecile Morin, Fern and Alice Morin, Adrien and Riola Morin, all of Madawaska and Romeo and Claudette Morin of Connecticut; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Burial will be at St. Agatha Upper Cemetery.
