MILLINOCKET – Richard Leo Donley, 74, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 30, 1935, in Millinocket, the son of Lawrence E. and Madeline M. (Kelly) Donley. Dick attended school in Millinocket and served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His entire career was spent at Great Northern Paper from which he retired in 1989 after 38 years of service. Mr. Donley was predeceased by his parents; and an infant son, Richard David. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara J. (Rogerson) Donley; four children, Jean Donley and her husband, Simon Speight, of Salem, Mass., Robert and his wife, Colleen, of Gorham, Elizabeth Donley and her fiance, William Dye, of Millinocket and Paul and his wife, Lori, of Millinocket; and grandchildren, Nigel Inman and Ted Murchison of Bangor, Nicholas and Shannon Murchison, Matthew, Samantha and Molly Donley of Millinocket and Julia Donley of Gorham. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in Dick’s honor may be made to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
