BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Joyce E. Rhoades, 80, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, of Silver Ridge Park North, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Community Medical Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Toms River, N.J., where she was involved in the Prayer and Share Ministry and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Toms River Chapter of Deborah, the Lighthouse, and Lupus Foundation. Mrs. Rhoades was predeceased by two sons, Peter, in 1984, and Terry, in 1993. She is survived by her husband, Vaughan L. Rhoades; two daughters, Denise Rhoades of Toms River, N.J., and Paula Bewley of Williamstown, N.J.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Mitchell of Hampden; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at First United Methodist Church, corner of Chestnut Street and Old Freehold Road, Toms River, N.J. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Ronald McDonald House, Bangor, or First United Methodist Church, Toms River, N.J. Arrangements are under the direction of Timothy E.
