COLUMBIA, Md. – Mary Pierce Ridlon died April 23, 2010, in Columbia, Md. Mary was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Boston, the daughter of Harold Marshall and Frances Elaine (Bass) Pierce. She graduated from Miss Hall’s School, Pittsfield, Mass.; Smith College, Northampton, Mass.; and Katharine Gibbs School, Boston. For four years she was employed by Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Co. In 1958 She married Herrick C. Ridlon, M.D., and they lived in West Hartford, Conn. The Ridlons retired to Punta Gorda, Fla., after Dr. Ridlon’s retirement. She was a member of Hartford (Conn.) Golf Club and Isles Yacht Club, Punta Gorda, Fla., and a volunteer at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital. Mrs. Ridlon is survived by her son, Col. David Pierce Ridlon, U.S. Army, retired, and his wife, Kathleen and their daughter, Lauren, all of Columbia, Md. She was predeceased by her husband, Herrick; and her brother, John Pierce. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Herrick C. Ridlon, M.D. Fund, care of Hartford Hospital, P.O.
