ELLSWORTH and LOWELL, Mass. – William E. Brooks passed away Dec. 29, 2009, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 15, 1968, in Bangor. William was an excellent mechanic and spent most of his working life in the automotive field. He also enjoyed doing bodywork and he especially loved Chevys. William is sadly missed by his father and stepmother, Charles and Linda Brooks of Ellsworth; his mother, Eleanor Zapata of Lowell, Mass.; grandmother, Helen Perkins of Orono; brother, James Brooks and nephew, Dylan, of Stillwater; sister, Susan Brooks of Lowell, Mass.; stepsister, Cathy Horetzke and her husband, Jay and their two children, Penny and Julian, of Hadley, N.Y.; stepbrother, Daniel DeGroff and his wife, Jennifer, of Bangor; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special aunt, Arlene Hathaway of Winterport. William is also survived by a son, Christopher Scott of Hermon; daughters, Ashley Stuart of Bay City, Texas, Courtney Brooks of Brewer and Alyssa Brooks of Lincoln. William also leaves behind a fiancee, Lindsay Scott of Sinclairville, N.Y.; as well as many friends. At Williams’s request, there were no services. A celebration of his life was held in February in Lowell, Mass. There will be a remembrance of his life 2-4 p.m. May 29 at Knowlton School, State Street, Ellsworth. All family and friends are welcome.
