FORT KENT and ST. FRANCIS – Donald “Cheyenne” Charette, 75, died April 30, 2010, in Fort Kent, after a brief illness. He was born July 1, 1934, in Fort Kent, son of Willard and Amanda (Theriault) Charette. Cheyenne was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time fishing, hunting and playing cards. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa and her husband, Bill Barnes, of Bridgton; his son, Danny Charette of Millington, Tenn.; sisters and brothers, Jeannette Bourgoin, Lorraine and her husband, James Fortin, Rowena and her husband, Stewart Bernier, Glenda and her husband, Rick Johnston, Edmund and his wife, Rena Charette, Lincoln and his wife, Louisette Charette, and Carroll and his wife, Mary Ann Charette; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend and longtime companion, Carol “Puss” Pelletier. He will be fondly remembered by Carol’s children and grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, St. Francis, with Pastor Gary Gardner officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will be afterward at St. Paul’s Congregational Cemetery. Those who wish in his memory may donate to the Senior Citizens Center, 20 Pine St., P.O. Box 403, Fort Kent, ME 04743. Funeral services are being handled by Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
