WINTER HAVEN, Fla., and NEWPORT – Isabelle “Belle” (Campbell) Heald, 84, died April 28, 2010, at a Winter Haven, Fla., hospital of heart failure. She was born March 7, 1926, in Charleston, the daughter of F. Raymond and Willow (Bagley) Campbell. She attended schools in Garland and was a graduate of Dexter High School. She had been employed at Edwards Co., Pittsfield, for many years in various capacities. Belle was married to John S. Heald of Winter Haven, Fla. She loved to garden especially while raising her prize roses. She was an extremely talented cross-stitcher and a lot of her lovely work is displayed at High Street Congregational Church, Newport, where she was a very active member. Belle and John were members of High Street’s choir and many times preformed duets for the congregation. Belle loved her cats and always had several that she treated as her babies. She is survived by her husband, John of Winter Haven, Fla.; two sons and their wives, William E. and Christine (Merrill) Maynard of Ellington, Conn., and Robert F. and Stephanie (Evans) Maynard of Kennesaw, Ga.; stepchildren, Jeanne Peters, Nancy Chamberlin, Jerri Merritt, Connie Mayette and John McKenzie; five grandchildren, Douglas, Jennifer, David, Stephen and John Maynard; stepgrandchildren, Julie Peters and Tiffany Meeks; several McKenzie stepgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis and Joyce; and her husbands, Richard Maynard and Francis McKenzie. Memorial services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 16, at High Street Congregational Church with the Rev. Ernest Campbell and Pastor Al Worden officiating.
