WINN – Beth Scott Trueworthy, 89, passed away May 5, 2010, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1921, in the “Little House” in Winn, the daughter of John Porter and Clara Dill (Ranney) Scott. Beth had many interests and abilities that included knitting, sewing, making crafts and cooking. She was known for her delicious homemade doughnuts, fresh baked pies and breads. She was a talented quilter who made many quilts in a variety of designs. Beth also loved the outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling and camping with her beloved husband, “Hank.” She had a love for their beautiful flower gardens and planters, as well as watching humming birds, chickadees, bluebirds and orioles that frequented their feeders. She was the Skip-Bo champion and played a wild game of 83. Beth’s children and their families brought joy and laughter to her life. Beth was a member of Pine Tree Quilters. Honored as a World War II veteran, she was a lifelong member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. She was a member of several local snowmobile clubs, and was previously a member of square dance clubs and president of Winn Red Cross. She was a lifelong member of Winn Episcopal Church. Beth was a lifelong companion, wife and best friend to her husband, Hank. Beth is survived by Hank, a romance that lasted 65 precious years. She is the mother of three daughters, Janet Ann and husband, Charles Hamel, of Bangor, Hazel Beth and husband, Wayne Henderson, of Sidney, and Betsy Jane and husband, Donald Cannan, of Minot; grandchildren, Seth Williams and wife, Karlyn, Kristen Hanson and husband, Ronald, Daniel Henderson, Elizabeth Emery and husband, Keith, Gregory Henderson and wife, Jennifer, Robert Michaud and wife, Melissa, and Mark Michaud and wife, Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren, Erica, Emily, Delaney, Dalton, Mason, Gracious, Cody and Ryan. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Virginia Urbanek officiating.
