EAST ORLAND and ELLSWORTH – Sarah A. Brown, 100, died peacefully May 8, 2010, at an Ellsworth nursing home with her loving family at her side. She was born Feb. 14, 1910, in Blaine, the daughter of James and Lavina (Kingsbury) Jones. Sally is survived by her daughter, Joanne and husband, Clyde Grindle, of East Orland; son-in-law, Kenneth Carlson of Connecticut; her five grandchildren, Kenda Wallace of Arizona, Arlen and wife, Chris, of Connecticut, Kenneth and wife, Regina, of Kentucky, Alicia and friend, Lori, of Orland and Jason and wife, Michelle, of Bucksport; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Brown, April 4, 1969; and daughter, L. Dawn Carlson, March 13, 2010. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with the Rev. Raymond Stevens officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland, with a gathering after at the home of Joanne and Clyde Grindle.
