BURLINGTON – Dean Henry Fogg Sr., 85, passed away May 7, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at Cummings Healthcare Facility, Howland. He was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Burlington, the son of Kirk and Fern (Porter) Fogg. He attended Burlington and Lee schools and was a World War II veteran. He was drafted into the U.S. Army April 9, 1943, serving with the 834th Engineer Aviation Regiment as a truck driver. He was one of those who landed at Normandy Beach on D-Day. He was discharged Dec. 12, 1945. Returning home, he worked in the woods with his father for a while and then drove school bus for Lee Academy. He then drove school bus and was custodian for SAD 31 for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Horeb Lodge No. 93, AF & AM of Lincoln. He was one of the founders of Triangle Fire Department of Burlington and Lowell. Dean enjoyed his “coffee time” at the Burlington Mall. He enjoyed his camp at Saponac Lake and fishing there. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen (Blanchard) Fogg; two children and their spouses, Dean Jr. and Trudy of Enfield and Jan and Mike Goslin of Lowell; five granddaughters and husbands, Tracy and Will Armitage of Falmouth, Diana and Scott Picavet of Raymond, Heidi and Adam Sisco of Howland, Heather and Kevin Kirkbride of Hermon and Valerie and Shane Renshaw of Marshfield; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Gwen Armitage, twins James and Brady Picavet, Makayla Sisco, Shaeleigh and Jaimeson Kirkbride, and Alex and Brianna Renshaw; a sister, Lucy Ludden of Howland; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Keith; and sisters, Gertie, Louise and Maxine. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a Masonic memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at Mount Repose Cemetery.
