MILFORD – James J. Roy Sr., 76, passed away peacefully May 10, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Old Town, a son of Joseph A. and Gertrude (Levesque) Roi. He attended schools in Levant and Old Town. James married Geneva Rose Dickinson, July 2, 1951. In his younger years, he enjoyed amateur boxing, hunting and fishing, and later in life, James enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, sons, daughters, nieces, nephews and longtime friend, Harold Lacadie. He was employed for 29 years at Maine Cement, Veazie, and for 12 years at James River Mill, Old Town. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. He is survived by seven children, James Roy Jr. and his wife, Merla, Karon Roy, Phillip Roy, Chris Roy and Andy LeBretton, Lisa Bird and her husband, Dan, Troy Roy and his wife, Carol, and Michelle Dupuis and her husband, Dan; 12 grandchildren, Andy, Jenny, Lance, Courtney, Justin, Torie, Nicholas, Kaitlin, Dylan, Noah, Dakota and Alec; a great-grandchild, Trinity; and four sisters, Rita, Rose, Yvonne and Nancy. He was predeceased by his lifelong companion and loving wife of 58 years, Geneva, Dec. 15, 2009; five brothers, Phillip, Arthur, Adrien, Lionel and Evan; and two sisters, Marry Anne and Helen.
