HANCOCK – Kathlyn Octavia Linscott “Nana” Bridges, 95, died May 11, 2010, at an Ellsworth health care facility. She was born Aug. 27, 1914, one of 14 children to Hollis M. and Gertrude E. (West) Linscott. Kathlyn worked at J.J. Newberry in downtown Ellsworth for more than 50 years. She loved square dancing and was a member of United Baptist Church, Ellsworth. She is survived by a sister, Mary Fickett of Milbridge; eight grandchildren, Robbie, Ronda, Wanda, Jack, Tommy, Scott, Terri and Lisa; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving Bridges; daughter, Joan Haslam; and a son, John Bridges Sr. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Pine Tree Cemetery, Hancock, with the Rev. Richard Rockwell officiating.
