GOULDSBORO and GLENBURN – Geraldine June (Driscoll) Hanson, 90, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born March 30, 1920, in Gouldsboro, daughter of the late Eugene and Vera (Farren) Roberts. She worked at Snow’s Canning Co., South Gouldsboro, Ellsworth Woolen Mill and retired from Emples Knitting Mill, Brewer. She was predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence, Merrill and Harry Roberts; and a son, Robert “Bob” Driscoll. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Leonard Hanson of Glenburn; his children, Leonard and wife, Elaine, of Holden, and Julie (Hanson) Lancaster and husband, Linwood, of Silversprings, Fla.; Gerri’s daughter, Vera (Driscoll) Briggs and husband, Abial; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Driscoll, all of Gouldsboro; five grandchildren, Douglas Briggs of Anson, Kevin Briggs and wife, Ann, of Steuben, Kathy (Briggs) Page and husband, Michael, of Hancock, Ricky Driscoll and wife, Judy, and Melanie (Driscoll) Moores and husband, Randy, all of Gouldsboro; six great-grandchildren, Robert Driscoll, Katlin (Moores) Cowperthwaite and husband, Chris, Derik Briggs, all of Gouldsboro, Amanda Briggs of Milbridge, Carie (Page) Smith of Hancock and Danielle Page of Biddeford; three great-stepgrandchildren, Todd, Tina and Amy; and two great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Cowperthwaite of Gouldsboro and Grace Mae Smith of Hancock. Mom will be put to rest May 19 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, at United Baptist Church, 38 Pine St., Ellsworth, with Pastor Michael Page officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westgate Manor Activity Fund, 750 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401.
