BREWER – Daniel Hugh McLaughlin, 66, died Saturday, May 22, 2010, surrounded by his family, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 5, 1943, in Bangor, the son of the late Daniel and Cecelia (Watson) McLaughlin. Danny was a 1962 graduate of John Bapst High School. After high school he worked many years at Eastern Fine Paper, Brewer. Since retirement, Danny enjoyed working in his flower gardens, as well as his many other interests and projects. Danny is survived by his wife, Carol M. (Martin) of Brewer; a son, Mark D. McLaughlin and his partner, Kevin L. Briggs, of Brewer; a daughter, Wendy J. (McLaughlin) Morse and her husband, Jeffrey, of Penacook, N.H.; two grandsons, Adam and Eric Morse, both of New Hampshire; two sisters, Anastatia E. McCann and her husband, Donald, of Gilbert, Ariz., and C. Teresa Dore and her husband, Richard, of Brewer; two brothers, Timothy E. McLaughlin and his wife, Gloria, of Orrington and Michael J. and his wife, Donna, of Brewer; three sisters-in-law, Theresa F. Violette of Tavares, Fla., Alfreda L. Salisbury of Palmyra and Ruth E. Brown of Brewer; one brother-in-law, Douglas D. Martin and his wife, Ellen, of Virginia Beach, Va.; 23 nieces and nephews, Teresa (McCann) Jackman and her husband, Greg, Vicki (McCann) Thompson and her husband, Steve, and Patrick McCann, all of Arizona, Kate (McCann) Harwood and her husband, Chris, of California, Laurie (Dore) Richards and her husband, Cory, of Brewer, Christopher Dore and his wife, Darcy, of Holden, Michael Dore of Portland, Tammy and T.J. McLaughlin of Orrington, Amy (McLaughlin) Nadeau and her husband, Chris, of Brewer, Michelle McLaughlin and fiance, Brian White, of Portland, Michael Violette and his wife, Roberta, of Old Town, Patricia (Violette) Smith and her husband, Greg, Terry (Violette) Bowden and her husband, Randy, all of Florida, Cindy (Violette) Ault and her husband, Larry, of Brewer, Amy Violette of Bangor, Barry Martin of Hampden, Dawn Brown of Winterport, Lori (Martin) Lerner and her husband, Todd, of Germany, Kelly (Martin) Mayer of Virginia and John Martin and his wife, Jaimie, of Portland; many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas W. McLaughlin A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa Catholic Church, South Main Street, Brewer. Please join us immediately afterward at the parish center for refreshments and a time of continued celebration of Danny’s life.
