KENDUSKEAG – Sylvio A. Paradise, 91, passed away peacefully Monday, May 24, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Fort Kent. Sylvio served in the U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division from 1946 to 1951, at which time he was given an honorable discharge. He proudly fought in World War II and the Korean War. While overseas he met the love of his life, his wife, Ursula Busch, who predeceased him. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his daughter, Tina (Paradise) Byers and her fiance, Dana Carey, whom he resided with in Kenduskeag; daughter, Sherry (Paradise) Johnson of Stockton Springs; six grandchildren, Patrick, Mitchel and Dawson Byers, Tara and Natasha Paradise, and Jessica Johnson; seven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. At his request, there will be no services.
