DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A Parkman man was taken to a hospital Tuesday after the motorcycle he was driving struck a car on Route 15.
Benjamin Silva, 51, initially was taken to Mayo Regional Hospital after the accident and later was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, according to a Mayo nursing supervisor.
An EMMC nursing supervisor said Silva was in fair condition Tuesday night.
The accident occurred about 1 p.m. as Silva was attempting to drive around a pickup truck that was turning right into the parking lot of a local business, Officer Kyle Wilson said, citing an accident report submitted by Officer Todd Lyford.
After Silva made his way around the truck, he struck the driver’s side of a car driven by Jessica Mason, 33, of Dexter, who was making a left turn into the parking lot of the Save-A-Lot store, Wilson said. Mason was not injured, he said.
Silva was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred, Wilson said.
