ST. AGATHA – Jeanne Ayotte St. Peter, 60, died peacefully May 25, 2010, surrounded by her son, Paul; daughter, Janice; brothers, Elmer and Armand; and friends, Rose and Steve Bouchard, at Northern Maine Medical Center, Fort Kent, after a courageous two-month battle with cancer. She was born June 17, 1949, in Daigle, the daughter of Fortunat “Noir” and Alberta (Madore) Ayotte. Jeanne was a meticulous homemaker, loving Memere who was devoted to her granddaughters, Desiree and Danika, who found her a good listener and caregiver – kindhearted, patient, hopeful and fun-loving “who loved us no matter what.” She abhorred discord, was a peacemaker – tolerant, tenacious, joy-filled, positive, good-humored, helpful – a source of strength for those around her. She was the rock of the family, liked the color purple, all types of music, dancing, video games, puzzle-making and card playing with her good friends at Montfort Heights. She loved children, dolphins and snowmen. On May 15, she was overwhelmed by an early surprise birthday party, where friends and relatives celebrated her life. She laughed, rejoiced and danced. She is survived by her beloved children, Paul of Frenchville, and Janice and her husband, Randy Dumais, of St. Agatha; two loved granddaughters, Desiree Anika and Danika May Dumais of St. Agatha; her brothers, Sylva “Guy” of Bristol, Conn., Elmer and his wife, Linda, of Forestville, Conn., Armand of East Berlin, Conn., and Roger of Arizona; sister, Rolande Guimond of Lewiston; longtime companion, Roger Ringuette of St. Agatha; former husband, Joel St. Peter of Van Buren; her mother-in-law, Jeanne Bouley (Romeo) St. Peter, Bonnita and Gerald Blair, Barbara and Carl Freeman, Brenda St. Peter, Alberta and Jacques Hebert, Mary Anne (Reynold) St. Peter, David and Betty St. Pierre, Roger St. Peter, and Russell and Theresa St. Pierre; treasured nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, especially long-term friends, Cecile and Roland Daigle of Plainville, Conn., Maxine and Armand Guerrette of St. Agatha, and Claudette and Emery Dionne of Sinclair. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Jerry Ayotte; and sisters, Irene Sirois and Rella Sawyer. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. May 28 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, St. Agatha, with the Rev. Philip Cyr. Family and friends may pay their respects to the family 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be immediately after the ceremony at St. Euthrope Cemetery, Guerrette.
