BREWER – Margaret Eleanor Arlaud, 79, wife of the late Jack E. Arlaud Sr., died May 27, 2010, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. She was born June 19, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Charles and Margaret K. (Gallagher) Lander. Peg was a graduate of John Bapst High School. She was employed by New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. for several years and later sold Mary Kay cosmetics. In more recent years, Peg and her partner opened a studio in Bangor called Color Me Beautiful. She enjoyed gardening, animals, sewing and cake decorating. Surviving are three sons, Michael Arlaud and his wife, Nancy, of Sherrill, N.Y., Jack Arlaud Jr. of Las Vegas, and Steve Arlaud and his wife, Jane, of Gray; two daughters, Denise Clement and her husband, Merrill, of Bucksport and Anne Pomeroy and her husband, Jeff, of Frances Town, N.H.; six grandchildren, Douglass Arlaud, Amanda Arlaud, Jennifer Burke, David Arlaud, Paula Arlaud and Jesse Clement; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Bickford and her husband, Clyde, of Lincoln; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 57 years, Jack, she was predeceased by her parents; brothers, William Lander and “Happy” Lander, both of Bangor; and a sister, Carol Farley of Milton, N.J. The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, for the wonderful care Peg received while she was a resident there. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Brewer.
