AUGUSTA – Frances Arno Gallant, formerly of Newport, died peacefully May 28, 2010, in the presence of her children at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, after a short illness. She was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Newport, the daughter of Bernard and Helen Arno. Frances graduated from Nokomis Regional High School in 1967. She was a certified ultrasound technician, employed by MaineGeneral Medical Center for 30 years, working at Thayer and Augusta medical centers. She found great joy in gardening, landscaping, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Frances was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her son, Bradley Bucknell and his wife, Renee, of Auburn; her daughter, Julie Faas and her husband, Jamie, of Colchester, Vt.; her four grandchildren; and three sisters, Susan Soloniewicz and her husband, Frank, of South Berwick, Donna Freeman and her husband, James, of Meriden, Conn., and Beverly Lackman of Meriden, Conn. A celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. June 1 at South Parish Congregational UCC, Church Street, Augusta.
