BANGOR – Sheila Frances (Thorne) Marquis, 68, beloved wife of Robert L. Marquis Sr. and mother to three wonderful sons, passed away May 28, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Bangor, the daughter of Edward T. and Marguerite M. (Verow) Thorne. Sheila graduated with high honors from John Bapst High School, Class of 1961. Our wife and mother is at peace with the angels in heaven now and she is with us always. We can’t wait to see her again and walk with her among the angels. Sheila worked hard with her husband and tirelessly all of her life to raise three wonderful sons. Her commitment and love for her family is unmatched. She left so much to each and every soul she touched and taught us all so much about the meaning of life. Sheila was a living angel who gave everything of herself to so many others, even when she was most ill. She will be especially missed by her husband and three sons, as well as her brothers and sisters. Her immense strength will carry all of us through till we see her again. Her heart will beat within all of us for the rest of our lives on this earth. In addition to loving husband of 45 years, Robert L. Marquis Sr., she is survived by her three sons, Robert L. Marquis Jr. and wife, Jen, of Windham, Joe and Chris Marquis of Bangor; dear grandchildren she loved so very much, Mason and Emily Marquis; wonderful siblings, Noreen Simon and husband, John, Beverly McCluskey and husband, Robert, Gerald Thorne and wife, Jackie, Lawrence Thorne and wife, Sydney, Edward Thorne and wife, Sally, and her baby sister, Lorraine Carson; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; best friend, Janet Cammack and husband, Walter; and many other extended family members. Sheila’s family thanks the entire staff of Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center for the 15 years of wonderful care she received. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5.
