GLENBURN – Billy Marshall Rogers, 74, passed away unexpectedly June 1, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 22, 1935, in Laurel, Del., the son of Allen W. and Elsie E. (Cooper) Rogers. Billy served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, retiring in 1973. After his retirement he worked for DuPont Construction, Delaware. Upon moving to Maine, he worked at Bangor Theological Seminary and Cherokee Archery. Billy enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing, and made many friends teaching them how to shoot. He was a dearly loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Josephine (Trundy) Rogers; children, Matthew B. Rogers and wife, Amy, of Corinna, Roxanne Willing and husband, Carlton, of Delaware, Lorena E. Giffard and husband, Scott, of Orrington and Lucas J. Rogers of Glenburn; a sister-in-law, Peggy Rogers of Delaware; grandchildren, Amie, Matthew, Billy, Chad, Joshua and Mya; eight great-grandchildren; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Mark A. Rogers in 2000; and a brother, Allen Rogers Jr. A gathering of remembrance will be held 3-5 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Billy’s home, 1876 Pushaw Road, Glenburn.
