BREWER and LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – Rose Marie Sullivan, 69, wife of Eugene M. Sullivan, died June 5, 2010, in Cambridge, Mass., after a long illness. She was born in 1940, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of James and Alice (Mullan) Welch. Rose Marie grew up in Sunnyside, N.Y., and attended St. Teresa School, Woodside, N.Y. She was a graduate of Aquinas High School, in the Bronx, N.Y. She attended New York University and achieved certification as a paralegal. She worked as an executive secretary in the pulp and paper industry in New York and Maine. She also worked for many years as a paralegal and a legal secretary at various law firms in New York. She and her husband attended Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Lynbrook, N.Y., and Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Malverne, N.Y. Rose Marie was a proud and devoted wife, mother and sister who loved and valued her family above all else. Surviving are her husband of Brewer; two children, Cornelius “Con” Sullivan of Brewer and his fiancee, Kate Davis, of East Millinocket, and Eugene Sullivan Jr. of Brewer; five siblings, Alice Cardo and her husband, Vito, of Garden City, N.Y., Rita McFadden and her husband, Donald, of Hornell, N.Y., Thomas Welch and his wife, Vera, of Queens, N.Y., Noreen McCambridge and her husband, Alexander, of Lynbrook, N.Y., and Kathleen Geldert and her husband, James, of Bellport, N.Y.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia and Barbara Welch; and two brothers, James and John Welch. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
