TIBURON, Calif., and BAR HARBOR – Agnes “Sissy” Barr Davis, the former Agnes Dollar Barr, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010. A sixth generation San Franciscan, she was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur and Zeila Barr of San Rafael, Calif.; and niece of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Agnes Dollar. She was a great-granddaughter of one of the first Supreme Court justices of California, Solomon Heydenfelt. She attended Dominican Convent, San Rafael, Calif., and Finch Junior College, New York City, and graduated from Dominican College, San Rafael, Calif. She and her husband, the late John A. Davis, lived in Chevy Chase, Md., Honolulu, Bronxville, N.Y., and Houston, Texas, among other cities, and traveled extensively around the world. She is survived by her children, John A. Davis III, M.D., of Knoxville, Tenn., Doreen Davis-Owen of Tiburon, Calif., Arthur B. Davis of Bar Harbor and Heidi Davis Barnes of Vancouver, British Columbia. She also leaves behind a loving daughter-in-law, Heather Davis; two sons-in-law, Phil Barnes and Phil Owen; and five beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas, Austin and Catherine Barnes, Luke and Hunter Davis. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. William Barr of Healdsburg. The funeral service was held Saturday, June 5, at St. Hilary’s Church, Tiburon, Calif.
