PRESQUE ISLE – Elaine W. Ricker, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 9, 2010, with her family at her side. She was born March 5, 1919, in Bristol, New Brunswick, the daughter of John and Lillian (Bell) Jensen. Elaine taught for more than 25 years at Bristol Elementary School, Bristol, New Brunswick. She was a longtime and active member of Presque Isle Wesleyan Church. She is survived by her husband, Ivan M. Ricker of Presque Isle; a brother, Bryant Jensen of New Denmark, New Brunswick; a sister, Marion Lawrence and her husband, Melvin, of Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick; sons, the Rev. Hazen Ricker of Sussex, New Brunswick and Robert Ricker; a daughter, Phyllis Henderson and her husband, David, of Lakeland, Fla.; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by brothers, Grovinor, Anton and Kingston; and sisters, Ainsle (DeLong) and Eska (Buchanan). Although Elaine will be sadly missed by her family and friends, she is now in the presence of her Lord. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, 387 Centerline Road, Presque Isle. A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, at Presque Isle Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bud Fancy officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
