ADDISON – Francena M. Denny, 81, wife of the late George “Popeye” Denny, died June 10, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born July 30, 1928, in Addison, the daughter of Reuben and Gladys (Kinghorn) Perry. Francena was a member of Ladies Auxiliary, Addison since 1972 and the treasurer for 32 years. She was also a member of the Friendly Club. Francena enjoyed playing Beano, making peanut butter fudge, cooking, her trips to Canada, and especially spending time with family and friends. She is survived by a son, Stephen C. Denny and his wife, Rose, of Addison; a daughter, Judy Redimarker and her partner, Arden Alley, of Jonesport; and five grandchildren, Angela Looke and her fiance, Bruce Farren, Gisele Denny, Melanie Barrett and her husband, Chester, Stephanie Chambers and her husband, Larry, and Richard “Bub” Redimarker and his wife, Linda. She is also survived by three brothers, Richard Perry and wife, Penny, Carrol Perry and wife, Barbara, and Parris Hammond and wife, Sarah; as well as three sisters, Brenda Roberts and husband, Elizabeth Bagley and Joan Bailey. She also has 11 great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Eric, Aaron, Candice, Carlye, Stephen, Ryan, Kristy, Dean, Tricia and Ricky; as well as three great-great-grandchildren that she loved very much. She is also survived by two special friends, Bobby and Barbara Gastia; and her second family, Addison Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Gloria Foss and Rosmen Perry; and one brother, Reuben Perry. A memorial service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at Union Church, South Addison. Interment will be at the Church on the Hill Cemetery, Addison.
