HOLDEN – Parker C. Beals, 76, died peacefully June 18, 2010, surrounded by his family at Bangor hospital from complications of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Blaine, son of the late Cecil H. and Jessie E. (Craig) Beals. Parker served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1961, and with the Maine Air National Guard, Bangor, from 1961 to his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed going to his summer home in Milbridge and talking to the neighbors and fisherman. Parker was a member of Ralph J. Pollard No. 217 AF & AM, Orrington. Parker was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ritz of Deland, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Mitchell Beals of Holden; daughters, Patti S. Herrick and husband, Keith, of Otis and Stephanie J. Sites and husband, Alan, of Bangor; a son, Brian P. Beals and wife, Shelly, of Hampden; a brother, Dana Beals and wife, Willa, of Blaine; a brother-in-law, Robert Ritz of Deland, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kelly, Carissa, Grant, Jen and Tom; and his dog and best friend, Lady. Parker also leaves behind many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Alton Wallace of Milbridge and Randy and Judy Sherman of Holden. Family and friends are invited to call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. with Pastor Ambrose Rolfe officiating.
