BANGOR – John Crawford Jr., 89, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, surrounded by his family at home. He was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Collingswood, N.J., the son of John and Anna (MacKenzie) Crawford. John will always be remembered as a man who put God and his family first. He was a co-founder of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Cherry Hill, N.J., and loved serving the Lord with his nursing home missions. John is survived by his sons, John Crawford III, M.D., and his wife, Debra, of Clymer, Pa., and Douglas Crawford, R.N., and his wife, Julie, of Bangor; grandchildren, Rebekah, Greg and John; great-grandchildren, Alex, Bennett, Sedona, Dayanaira, Melody, Amanda, Rachel, Emily, Lauren, Joshua and William; and his toy fox terrier, Buster. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth (Richie) Crawford; and his brother, Carl Crawford. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Evergreen Cemetery, Park Street, Milo. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
