CORINTH – Richard L. Boone Jr. died peacefully June 19, 2010, at a Howland nursing home facility. He was born May 28, 1930, in Presque Isle, the son of Richard and Hope Higgins Boone, and was raised in Dover-Foxcroft. He married Frances MacDonald of Brownville Junction in 1950 and together they raised six children. They shared 53 years together until her passing, March 26, 2003. He worked many years in the tire industry and retired from O&R Lumbra Lumber Mill after many years. He was predeceased by his wife; parents; a son, Joel Boone Sr.; and a grandson, Todd Douglas. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Richard III and wife, Cynthia, of Wytopitlock, Patsy and husband, Alan, of Levant, Daniel and wife, Linda, of Bangor, Louie and wife, Christel, of Brewer and Jeanne and husband, Rick Clement, of Corinth; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clarice Call and Judith Alexa, of Dover-Foxcroft, Joan Zikorus of Canaan and Sheila Lyons of Masardis; three brothers, Roger of Stetson, and Bert and William, of Dover-Foxcroft; sister-in-law, Nora Gidney of North Vasselboro; many nieces and nephews. Observing his wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral services. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
