PATTEN and MEDWAY – Ann Marie (Grant) Merry, 73, died June 18, 2010, in Medway. She was born April 8, 1937, in Patten, to Vivian and Mildred (Boynton) Grant. Ann resided in Patten with her husband, Barton, most of her life. She enjoyed being an active committee member of the annual alumni banquet for Patten Academy graduates. She worked at Patten Drug Co. for more than 30 years. After retirement Bart and Ann spent their time going out to eat on the weekends, camping with their families and spoiling their grandsons. In 2008, Ann and her beloved pug, Rocky, moved to Medway with daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Joel. She was able to spend the remainder of her life surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Coon and her husband, Joel; two grandsons, Andrew and Grant, all of Medway; brother, Donald Grant of Stetson; sister, Christine Shorey and her husband, Donald, of Patten; brothers-in-law, Linwood Merry and his wife, Clyde, of Stacyville and Conrad Merry and his wife, Beverly; and sister-in-law, Joyce Merry, all of Sherman. She thoroughly enjoyed her nieces and nephews and loved them all very much. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Barton; brother, Leon Grant; sister-in-law, Gayle Grant; and brother-in-law, Barry Merry. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. Interment will be at Patten Cemetery.
