MILBRIDGE – Marvin M. Strout Sr., 77, died June 20, 2010, at a Machias hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Milbridge, the son of Lonnie and Edith Strout. Marvin served 21 years in the U.S. Army, and he served during Vietnam and Korea. He was a lifetime member of Milbridge Veterans Club and Harrington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 11553. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Minerva Strout of Milbridge; a daughter, Edith “Ginger” Riley and her husband, Robert, of Occum, Conn.; a son, Lonnie Strout and his wife, Gayla, of Forman, Ark.; sister-in-law, Ruth Strout of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Marvin III, Courtney and Jessica Strout and Jolette Riley; six sisters, Alana Pinkham of Steuben, Doreen Strout of Cherryfield, Jacquelyn Ford of Lady Lake, Fla., Patsy Halt of Austin, Texas, Venelva Merchant of New Hampshire and Yvette Strout of New Hampshire; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Marvin M. Strout Jr.; and one brother, Harry Strout. A memorial service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge.
