LEVANT – Benjamin Arthur Bowley, 58, passed away June 22, 2010, at his home. He was born May 9, 1952, in Bangor, to Ellsworth Huntington and Mary Velma (Drew) Bowley. Benjamin was raised on a dairy farm and was a resident of Levant most of his life. He graduated from Hermon High School in 1972, where he showed an early aptitude for working with his hands winning awards in woodworking and metalworking. He enjoyed fishing and spent lots of time tinkering with and expanding his extensive train set. Ben was a gentle, quiet man who will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his brother, William Bowley, in 1957. In addition to his parents of Levant, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Peggy Lee (Downing) Bowley; his sons, Benjamin Allen and his wife, Rose Bowley, of Levant, Ryan Benjamin Bowley of Stetson, and Roger Jason and his wife, Sharon Sinclair, of Levant; his daughter, Angela Marie and her husband, Jeffery Littlefield of Bradley; his sister, Barbara Jean Fitch of Sebago; and 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Dustin, Justin, Nicholas, Alexander, Philip, Michael, Rebecca, Matthew and Brayden. A service honoring his life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where family and friends may visit 11 a.m. until the service begins.
