LINCOLN – Elaine Ruth West, 86, died June 22, 2010, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Lincoln, the daughter of Robert and Hattie (Lane) Weatherbee. She is survived by her son, Alan Gates and his wife, Joan; two grandchildren, Mallory and Brandon Gates; a brother, Robert Weatherbee and his wife, Sylvia, all of Lincoln; and six stepchildren, Rena, Lena, Ruby, Everett, Bradley and Clyde; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Dorance “DoDo” Gates; second husband, Earland West; three sisters, Polly Webster, Priscilla Stevens and Charlotte Patchell; and four brothers, Byron, Clarence, Jimmy and John Weatherbee.
