PENOBSCOT – Vivian Blair Farnham, 80, of Penobscot Nursing Home and formerly of Augusta, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Blue Hill. She was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Augusta, the daughter of Hugh and Theo (Mooers) Blair. Vivian graduated from Cony High School, Class of 1948. She was employed with the state of Maine in the Department of Motor Vehicle from the 1950s until 1972. In 1972 Vivian moved to Penobscot, where she and her husband, Alton Farnham, operated Farnham’s Equipment Co. for many years. She was a member of South Parish Congregational Church, Augusta, from the year in which she was born until moving to Penobscot in 1972. Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Alton S. Farnham; and a son, Anthony “Tony” McGlauflin. She is survived by a son, David McGlauflin of Irmo, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Gwendalyn B. Benoit of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Maricel T., Anthony C. and Christian D. McGlauflin, all of Irmo, S.C. A memorial service celebrating Vivian’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta. Burial will be immediately after at Kling Cemetery, West River Road, Augusta.
