WEST BATH – George Edward Hoskin, 69, died April 22, 2010, at Maine Veterans Home, Scarborough. He was born Sept. 17, 1940, in Houlton, to parents, George Robert “Bob,” who predeceased him, and Elsie Louise Grant Hoskin. Mr. Hoskin received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maine and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of New Hampshire. He also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1970. Mr. Hoskin was a local business owner of Hoskin Enterprises, West Bath. George is survived by two daughters, Joella Hoskin Anderson and husband, Keith, of High Point, N.C., and Kerry Elaine Goodman of Linden, Mich.; grandchildren, Keith Grant Anderson Jr., age 13, Collin Edward Anderson, age 9, Spencer Daniel Goodman, age 6, and Lauren Joella Goodman, age 3.; brother, Royal Hoskin and wife, Susan, of Hollis Center; niece, Betsy Hoskin of Portland; an aunt, Freda Carson of Houlton; several other aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. June 26 at Evergreen Cemetery, 163 Smyrna St., Houlton, with Mr. Hoskin’s uncle, the Rev. John Hoskin of Gorham, officiating. The family has requested any memorials be directed to Boy Scouts of America, G. Robert Hoskin Memorial Fund, at any TD Bank branch or may be mailed to G. Robert Hoskin Memorial Fund, 17 Bobbi Lane, Hollis, ME 04042.
