VERONA ISLAND – James C. Fraser, 92, died June 24, 2010, with his loving family by his side at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 12, 1917, in Winchester, Mass., son of James E. and Ruth (Moor) Fraser. He was a member of Bucksport Fire Department in the 1940s and 1950s. He was a past master of Felicity Masonic Lodge No. 19 AF & AM, Bucksport, being the lodge’s oldest past master, and a member of Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor. He worked for Central Maine Power for 40 years, retiring in 1979. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and canoeing. James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gertrude (Pentheny) of Verona Island; son, Douglas Fraser and his children, Andrew, Colin and Annaleah of Boulder Creek, Calif.; son, Kenneth Fraser and his spouse, Ronald Kamann, of Verona Island; and daughter, Judith Belton and her fiance, Al Dede, of Bucksport and Ellsworth, and her children, Specialist Thomas Belton, who is serving in Afghanistan, Daniel Belton and Roger Belton. He was predeceased by a son, David Fraser. The family thanks Dr. Karen Calcott and the staff at Bucksport Family Medicine for their kind and compassionate care, as well as the doctors, nurses and technicians at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, care of Anah Shriner’s, P.O. Box 735, Bangor, ME 04402.
