TRENTON – Lawrence James Romer, 72, died June 24, 2010, at his residence. He was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Trenton, the son of Hermon G. and Janet (Farmer) Romer. Lawrence attended school in Trenton and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1956. He was a true farmer owning Romer’s of Trenton, raising cattle and cutting down trees with his trusty chainsaw. He loved antique tractors and was a member of Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed going to horse and oxen pulling events. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Rollins) Romer; son, Lawrence James Romer II, both of Trenton; daughter, Laurie Ann Romer of Ellsworth; one grandchild, Stephanie May Romer; and sister, Maxine Romer Baker of Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Lewis. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Leland Cemetery, Trenton. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
