BANGOR – Leo Robert Cummings, 84, passed away June 24, 2010, at his home. He was born July 23, 1925, in Bangor, the son of Leo P. and Anne (McKenney) Cummings. Bob was a World War II veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 13th Airborne Division. He worked at Eastern Fine Paper Co., Brewer, retiring in 1990 after 44 years of service. Always a conservationist and lover of wildlife, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. A man with a twinkle in his eye, a spring in his step and always with a great tale to tell, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, especially to those with four legs and a tail. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Christine (Tilley) Cummings of Bangor; three daughters, Roseanne Roach of Bangor, Mary Doak of Hermon and Julie Esp and husband, Eirik, of Nashua, N.H.; his only sister, Annette Taylor of Bangor; eight grandchildren, Margaret Roach of Bangor, Amie Doak of Hermon, Dianne Charland and husband, Jason, of Orono, Paul Doak and wife, Jacque, of Bradford, Patrick Doak and wife, Katie, of Brewer, Madeline, Elena and Nicholas Esp of Nashua, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jaimie, Dylan, Camron, Cohen, Caliber, Kody and Jordan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Alfred Cummings. Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, to carry on his love for children and the outdoors, donations in his memory may be made to Camp Cappella, P.O.
