ORRINGTON and BUCKSPORT – Pamela A. (Stewart) Geagan, 60, went to be with the Lord June 25, 2010, with her loving family and close friend by her side, after surgery at a Boston hospital. Pamela was born Aug. 9, 1949, to Daniel and Patricia (Ripley) Stewart. Pamela had a love of children; hugs were given freely to children of all ages. She taught in the Bucksport school system for more than 25 years. She was a member of Methodist churches in Orrington and Bucksport, where she sang in the choir and was active in youth group, teaching Sunday school, women’s group and the fair committee. The Buckstown 4-H Club was a large part of her life, as a member and later a leader, where she was proud to watch her members become active, helpful citizens of the community. Trip rewards and scholarships were just a part of the 4-H experience, but most important was the internalization of knowing that each 4-H member was making the “best better.” She was associated with United Transportation Union for nearly 30 years. The times spent at her camp on Williams Pond with her family and friends were some of the happiest times of her life. Pamela is survived by and will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband, Gregory F. Geagan of Orrington; and her reason for being, her beloved daughter, Allison Geagan of Orrington and Bangor; stepson, Tracy Stone; grandson, Jackson Stone and Jackson’s mother, Jen Stone, of North Carolina; her brother’s wife, Nancy; two special nephews, Jimmy Stewart of Levant and Tiger Stewart and family of Lake Mary, Fla.; two aunts, Anita Robbins of Bangor and Ellen Stewart of Orrington and Arizona; many cousins that were as close to her as siblings; and her close friends, Sheri, Rhonda, Effie and Nancy. In addition to her loving parents, Pamela was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Stewart Jr., who she missed deeply; her cousins, Capt. Alfred Brown and the Rev. Douglas Hedstrom; many aunts and uncles. Family and friends will gather 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at First United Methodist Church, Orrington, for a service to remember her life and loving spirit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Orrington Food Cupboard, 14 Center Drive, Orrington, ME 04474 or Hancock County 4-H Leaders Association, 63 Boggy Brook Road, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
