OLD TOWN – Ezilda Mae (Moore) McCrum, 94, died June 23, 2010, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born May 31, 1916, in Lowell, the daughter of Norris and Elvie (Stickney) Moore of Burlington. Ezilda graduated from Brewer High School and continued her education at MaineGeneral Hospital, Portland, graduating as a registered nurse. After her marriage to the late Dr. Robert M. McCrum, D.O., they returned to Old Town, where they raised four children. As the children got older, Esilda went back to the profession she loved – nursing, working at James Taylor Osteopath Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center. She was a member and worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Katahdin Chapter No. 121, past president of Old Town Woman’s Club and a member of Old Town United Methodist Church. She is survived by four children, Richard A. McCrum and his wife, Barbara, of Greenbush, George A. McCrum and his wife, Judy, of Elko, Nev., Norris R. McCrum and his wife, Alana, of Stevensville, Mont., and Jeanne E. Wilson and her husband, Richard, of Poteau, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Grove of Bangor. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1968. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, with members of Order of the Eastern Star participating.
